We love Aer Lingus*

*This post has been edited to appease Dhruv. The things I do..

We really do.

Our joint journey started at Gate D21 in Dulles airport. We found each other, and awkwardly took an instant pic to celebrate matching iPod touches and sweatpants. See Figure 3-1 below.

Figure 3-1: Awkward Excitement

It was there while waiting in line that we discovered our first new species of the trip. We call her "Freakishly Small Child," pictured below (so freakishly small, CAN YOU EVEN SEE HER?¿?¿?¿?¿)
Figure 3-2: She´s just so small. Fairy princess?

Aer Lingus also provides travelers with a complimentary seat magazine, similar to SkyMall (so easy to do, so much you can choose....really just the fun way to buy). In this magazine, we found our trip mascot. Unfortunately, most places do not allow you to bring him inside. Europe hates dogs.

Figure 3-3: Sniffy basset hound, y so sad?!?! It´s not so bad.

Each seat came with its own television. Boom. This allowed Alice to watch her Disney channel original series and romantic comedies, and Amanda to watch her warrior and super hero movies. Note to reader: "The Eagle" with Chaning Tatum (spelling? order?) sucks. As does "The Green Hornet."  Bad job Hollywood. Our only complaint with Aer Lingus is their persistence with selling you snacks. Every ten minutes a 5 minute long announcement regarding the availability of snacks or a movie interruption (pictured below) popped up on our screen. We dont. Want. Snacks. STOP TRYING TO MAKE US SNACK. GOD.

Figure 3-4:  "Seat messages" ruin lives.

This concludes our thoughts regarding international flying. Expect a full length Madrid post soon.  Here are some teasers:
1.  We met our favorite people of the trip already. One is a priest, one is a baby. There´s a joke in there somewhere.
2.  We have already upgraded our hostel room.
3.  And finally, the first meal we ate in Spain had a menu with this section:
Figure 3-5:  Anybody for some Valenciana? No? You sure?

Until next time, we´re keeping it real. And about to go on a bar crawl.
